Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Dermatology Clinic Assistant to join our specialist care team in Peterborough. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will play a crucial role in supporting our dermatologists and ensuring the smooth operation of clinic services. You will be the first point of contact for many of our patients, providing compassionate care and efficient administrative support. This role requires an individual with excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a busy medical setting. Full training on dermatology-specific procedures and systems will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and register patients, ensuring a positive and efficient check-in experience.
- Prepare consultation rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
- Assist dermatologists during patient examinations and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Manage patient records, including accurate data entry and filing, maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Schedule follow-up appointments, procedures, and tests.
- Handle patient inquiries, both in person and over the phone, providing clear and helpful information.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries.
- Maintain inventory of clinic supplies and place orders as needed.
- Sterilise medical equipment according to established protocols.
- Ensure the clinic environment adheres to all health and safety regulations.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients who may be anxious or distressed.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- First Aid certification.
