Job Description
Are you passionate about gaming and looking for a hands-on role in the exciting world of esports? Intel Corporation is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our event production team as Esports Tournament Cable Helpers. This is an entry-level, temporary position ideal for those eager to get their start in event technical support and gain invaluable experience behind the scenes of major esports competitions. You will be instrumental in the physical setup and breakdown of gaming arenas, ensuring all cables are perfectly managed and equipment is ready for prime-time action.
Key Responsibilities
- Lay out, organize, and secure various types of cables (power, network, display) for gaming stations and peripherals according to detailed schematics.
- Assist with the physical setup and teardown of gaming PCs, monitors, keyboards, mice, headsets, and other esports equipment.
- Follow precise diagrams and instructions to ensure accurate equipment placement and configuration.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of connectivity issues under the guidance of lead technicians.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment before, during, and after event setups.
- Collaborate effectively with event production, technical, and logistics teams to meet tight deadlines.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines during all phases of setup and breakdown.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of electronics or a strong willingness to learn technical setup processes.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often demanding event environment.
- Excellent team player with good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- A keen interest in esports, video gaming, or the live event production industry.
- Prior experience in event setup, AV assistance, or general labor roles.
- Familiarity with common cable types (HDMI, DisplayPort, Ethernet, USB) and connectors.
