Job Description
This entry-level internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the critical fields of ethics, corporate governance, and compliance within a leading financial institution. The intern will support the Compliance and Legal departments by assisting with research, documentation, and various projects aimed at ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations. Full training and mentorship will be provided for this on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in researching and analyzing regulatory requirements and internal policies relevant to the financial industry.
- Support the preparation of compliance reports, presentations, and internal communications.
- Help maintain and organize crucial compliance documentation and records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, contributing to discussions on ethical practices and corporate governance initiatives.
- Aid in special projects related to risk assessment, policy implementation, and regulatory change management.
- Learn to identify and flag potential compliance issues and areas for improvement under direct supervision.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and research skills with an ability to process complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for clear and concise reporting.
- Demonstrated high level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for creating and managing documents.
- Eagerness to learn, a proactive attitude, and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous coursework or academic projects related to ethics, business law, or corporate governance.
- Familiarity with financial services regulations (e.g., SOX, Dodd-Frank, BSA) is a plus, but not required as training will be provided.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively as part of a team.
