Job Description
Join the vibrant team at Kamloops Summer Fest as a Festival Trash Collector! This is an entry-level position perfect for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and contributing to a positive community event. No prior experience is required; we provide all necessary training and equipment. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of our festival grounds, ensuring a pleasant experience for all attendees. Key Responsibilities
- Collect and dispose of waste and recycling from designated bins and public areas throughout the festival grounds.
- Monitor waste receptacles and replace liners as needed to prevent overflow.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in high-traffic areas, food courts, and vendor zones.
- Assist with spill cleanup and general site tidiness.
- Operate basic cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Communicate any issues or concerns regarding waste management to supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with other festival staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and carry items up to 25 lbs repeatedly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
