Job Description

Analog Devices is seeking a highly motivated Firmware / Embedded Systems Engineer to join our innovative team in Worcester, MA. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and testing of firmware for cutting-edge embedded systems within our high-performance analog and mixed-signal product lines. We are looking for individuals passionate about bringing hardware to life through robust and efficient code, contributing to products that power the next generation of industrial, automotive, communications, and consumer electronics. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and debug firmware for new embedded systems and products.
  • Implement real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal solutions.
  • Develop device drivers and low-level hardware interfaces.
  • Collaborate with hardware design teams to ensure seamless hardware/software integration.
  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, and system-level validation.
  • Contribute to system architecture and design discussions.
  • Document software designs, specifications, and test plans.
  • Support existing products and implement feature enhancements.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
  • Experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M, PIC, AVR, etc.) and their peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, DAC).
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar.
  • Experience with debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
  • Understanding of embedded hardware and ability to read schematics.
  • Version control systems experience (Git).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with Python for scripting and test automation.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (Ethernet, USB, CAN).
  • Experience with power management or sensor integration.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
