Key Responsibilities

• Assist skilled tradespeople and construction managers with various tasks on site, including carpentry, masonry, and concrete work.
• Perform general site clean-up and debris removal to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Load, unload, and safely transport construction materials, tools, and equipment using appropriate techniques.
• Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth using hand tools or basic power equipment as directed.
• Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades following strict safety guidelines.
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
• Adhere to all company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Support concrete pouring, framing, and other construction activities as needed, learning various aspects of the trade.
• Prepare job sites for various construction phases, including layout, setup, and breakdown.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and foremen to ensure tasks are completed correctly and on schedule.

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, climbing, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.

• Basic understanding of English for comprehending safety instructions and communicating with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to various job sites in the San Jose area.
• OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire, with company support).
