Job Description
Are you passionate about chocolate and love making people smile? Hotel Chocolat is seeking an enthusiastic and friendly Gourmet Chocolate Shop Cashier to join our team in Redbridge. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy interacting with customers, have an eye for detail, and are eager to learn about fine chocolate. You’ll be the face of our brand, helping customers find their perfect treats, processing sales, and ensuring our shop always looks inviting. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary – just a great attitude and a willingness to learn! Enjoy working flexible holiday hours and, of course, the perk of free chocolate samples!
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist customers, providing excellent service and product recommendations.
- Accurately process sales transactions using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash and card payments, ensuring precise till reconciliation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and beautifully presented store environment.
- Assist with restocking shelves and ensuring products are displayed attractively.
- Offer customers free chocolate samples, enhancing their in-store experience.
- Answer customer inquiries and resolve any issues with professionalism.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
- Support the team in achieving sales targets and maintaining high service standards.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and counting change.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Eagerness to learn about our products and share that knowledge with customers.

- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or a customer service role is a plus, but not required.
