Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Government Building Janitor to join our team in Coeur d’Alene, ID. This is a full-time position offering secure employment within a vital government facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the building, ensuring a safe and presentable environment for staff and visitors. We are looking for individuals who are thorough, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic. Full training will be provided to ensure you have all the necessary skills to excel in this important role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
- Empty wastebins and recycling receptacles.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
- Replenish soap, paper towels, and other restroom supplies.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management of needs.
- Operate various cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs.
- Report any major repairs or unsafe conditions to supervision.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Successful completion of a background check and security clearance (as required for government facilities).
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning roles is a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to cleaning.
