Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Government Food Assistance Processor. In this office-based role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing applications and managing documentation related to various government food assistance programs. This position requires strong administrative skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that eligible individuals and families receive timely and appropriate support.
Key Responsibilities
- Process new and existing food assistance applications according to established guidelines and regulations.
- Review application forms and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Enter data into state and federal processing systems with a high degree of precision.
- Communicate with applicants via phone, email, or mail to request additional information or clarify details.
- Maintain organized and confidential client records.
- Assist with generating reports and compiling statistical data related to program activities.
- Stay updated on changes to food assistance policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve service delivery.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in administrative support, data entry, or customer service.
- Familiarity with government assistance programs or social services.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
