Job Description
The Lane Construction Corporation is seeking dedicated Highway Maintenance Night Workers to join our vital team in Coral Gables, FL. This is a critical full-time, on-site role focused on ensuring the safety and operational efficiency of our highways during off-peak hours. As a Night Worker, you will perform essential maintenance tasks that keep our infrastructure functioning smoothly, contributing directly to the safety of countless commuters. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine highway maintenance tasks, including patching potholes, repairing guardrails, and clearing debris.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, and potentially heavy equipment (training provided if needed).
- Assist with traffic control setup and breakdown in active work zones, ensuring worker and public safety.
- Conduct inspections of roadway conditions and report any hazards or defects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced outdoor environment, often under varying weather conditions.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistent night shifts (typically 8-10 hour shifts).
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and practices.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in diverse weather conditions.
- Valid Florida Class E Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Basic understanding of construction safety principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months of experience in general labor, construction, landscaping, or similar outdoor maintenance roles.
- Experience operating small construction equipment (e.g., skid steers, forklifts).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
- Familiarity with local traffic laws and regulations.
