Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Swansea. This role involves providing specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for individuals experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. You will work within a supportive framework, contributing to the development and delivery of high-quality psychological services, and fostering a therapeutic environment focused on recovery and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including neurodevelopmental assessments, using a range of psychometric tests and clinical interviews.
- Develop evidence-based psychological formulations and care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Deliver individual and group psychological interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT) across various settings.
- Contribute to risk assessments and management plans for service users.
- Provide consultation and supervision to other members of the multidisciplinary team regarding psychological aspects of care.
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including service evaluation, audit, and research.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development and adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards set by the HCPC.
Required Skills
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Demonstrable experience of working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist, ideally within an inpatient or community mental health setting.
- Proficiency in conducting complex psychological assessments, formulations, and delivering a range of therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specific specialist areas such as personality disorder, trauma, or psychosis.
- Accreditation in a specific therapeutic modality (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR).
- Experience in supervising other psychological professionals or students.
- Involvement in service development or research projects.
