Job Description
Ventura Foods is seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources (HR) Director to lead our HR initiatives and strategy at our bustling Oxnard facility. This pivotal role requires a strategic leader who can drive talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, organizational development, and compliance with all labor laws. The HR Director will serve as a key business partner to senior leadership, fostering a positive work culture and ensuring the HR function aligns with our overall business objectives. This position is open to candidates requiring visa sponsorship, demonstrating our commitment to attracting global talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Oversee and manage the recruitment and selection process, including visa sponsorship management.
- Nurture a positive working environment through effective employee relations and communication.
- Manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
- Oversee performance management, employee development, and succession planning.
- Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
Required Skills
- Proven working experience as an HR Director or senior HR Manager for at least 8 years.
- Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics.
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices, including visa sponsorship regulations.
- BS/MS degree in Human Resources or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
- Experience in the food manufacturing or CPG industry.
- Experience managing HR for a large workforce (500+ employees).
