Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Welding & Fabrication Engineering Intern to join our manufacturing team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering environment, working alongside experienced professionals on real-world projects. You will learn about various welding techniques, fabrication processes, quality control, and the application of engineering principles in a high-tech manufacturing setting. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced engineers and technicians in the preparation and execution of welding and fabrication tasks.
- Learn and apply various welding techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG) and fabrication methods under supervision.
- Support the design and development of jigs, fixtures, and tooling to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Participate in material selection and testing for different fabrication applications.
- Contribute to quality control and inspection processes, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and industry standards.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and organized workshop environment.
- Document processes, analyze data, and prepare reports on project progress and findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality departments.
- Engage in continuous learning, staying updated with industry trends and new technologies in welding and fabrication.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science or a related field).
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and materials science.
- Familiarity with workshop tools and equipment.
- Eagerness to learn and develop practical skills in welding and fabrication.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior exposure to CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Basic knowledge of different welding processes and metallurgy.
- Experience with technical drawing interpretation.
