Job Description
Service Tasmania is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Information Processing Clerk to join our team in Hobart. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, playing a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of public sector records and information systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of data entry, record-keeping, and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth flow of critical information within government operations. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately inputting and updating data into various government databases and information systems.
- Processing and categorising documents, both physical and digital, according to established procedures.
- Performing regular quality checks on data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to privacy regulations for all sensitive information.
- Assisting with the preparation and distribution of reports and official documents.
- Archiving and retrieving records as required, ensuring proper indexing and storage.
- Responding to internal enquiries related to data and information processing in a timely manner.
- Adhering to all departmental policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in data entry with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
- Basic computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity of information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an administrative or data processing role, particularly within a public sector or similar highly regulated environment.
- Familiarity with government record-keeping practices and information management systems.
- A relevant Certificate II or III in Business Administration or a related field.
