Job Description
Join Australia Post as a Casual Courier and become an essential part of our delivery network in the Gungahlin area and surrounding CBD. We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to handle day shift deliveries, ensuring parcels and mail reach our customers efficiently and safely. No prior courier experience is required; we provide comprehensive training to get you up to speed.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver parcels and mail to designated addresses within the Gungahlin and Canberra CBD areas.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures where required.
- Handle customer inquiries professionally and courteously.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Sort and load parcels into the delivery vehicle according to delivery routes.
Required Skills
- Valid Australian Driver's License (Car – C class minimum).
- Excellent driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry parcels up to 20kg.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Good communication and customer service abilities.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to navigate using GPS and maps.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Gungahlin and Canberra CBD road networks.
- Experience with handheld delivery devices.
- Previous experience in a role requiring route planning or delivery (though not essential).
