Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inventory Planning Manager to join our robust supply chain team. This critical role will be instrumental in optimizing inventory levels across our extensive network, ensuring product availability while minimizing carrying costs. The successful candidate will lead a team of inventory planners, develop sophisticated forecasting models, and implement strategies to enhance our supply chain efficiency and responsiveness. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of inventory planners, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous development.
  • Develop, implement, and refine inventory planning strategies to meet service level targets and optimize working capital.
  • Utilize advanced statistical forecasting methods and demand planning tools to predict future inventory needs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, logistics, sales, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on inventory strategies.
  • Manage inventory levels across multiple distribution centers and retail stores, optimizing stock deployment and replenishment.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turns, fill rates, obsolescence, and forecast accuracy, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, including supplier delays, demand volatility, and inventory imbalances.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects related to inventory management processes, systems, and tools.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on inventory performance and strategic initiatives to senior management.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in inventory planning, supply chain management, or demand forecasting.
  • Proven leadership experience, including direct management of a team of planners.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical modeling and data analysis.
  • Expertise with advanced planning systems (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, JDA/Blue Yonder, Kinaxis) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex inventory strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
  • Certifications such as CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) from APICS/ASCM.
  • Experience with large-scale retail or CPG supply chains.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
