Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic IT Quality Assurance & Automated Testing Intern to join our technology team in Dundee. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about technology and eager to kick-start their career in software quality assurance and automation. As an intern, you will work closely with experienced QA engineers and developers, learning best practices in testing methodologies, test case development, and automated testing using Selenium. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for someone with foundational IT knowledge but no prior professional experience in QA or automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and execution of manual test cases for various software applications.
- Learn and apply automated testing principles using Selenium WebDriver.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of automated test scripts.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking systems.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, contributing to discussions and problem-solving.
- Conduct regression testing to ensure new features do not introduce unintended side effects.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand project requirements and provide feedback.
- Document testing procedures and results, ensuring clear and comprehensive records.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing concepts.
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- High level of enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn new technologies and methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
