Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Project Coordinator (Student) to join our team in Cairns. This entry-level internship is perfect for a student eager to gain practical experience within the dynamic construction industry. You will work alongside experienced Project Managers and support the successful delivery of various construction projects, from administrative tasks to on-site coordination. This role offers an invaluable opportunity to learn the fundamentals of project management in a real-world setting, providing a strong foundation for your future career. Full training and mentorship will be provided, ensuring you develop essential skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with daily administrative and coordination tasks.
- Maintain project documentation, including reports, schedules, and correspondence.
- Support the creation and tracking of project schedules and deadlines.
- Coordinate communication between project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Assist with data entry and management within project management software.
- Participate in site visits and meetings, under supervision, to observe project progress and challenges.
- Help prepare project reports and presentations.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a relevant tertiary degree (e.g., Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an office environment or customer service role (volunteer or paid).
- Basic understanding of project management principles.
- Experience with any project management software (e.g., MS Project, Aconex) is a plus but not essential.
- Valid driver's license.
