Job Description
We are actively seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Helper / Dishwasher to join our dynamic culinary team immediately. This full-time, on-site position is perfect for someone eager to start a career in hospitality, offering comprehensive training and a supportive environment. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen, ensuring our chefs can operate seamlessly. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the dishwashing machine, ensuring all dishes, cutlery, and cooking utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Hand wash delicate items, pots, and pans as required.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including floors, work surfaces, and storage areas.
- Properly store clean dishes, equipment, and supplies.
- Empty bins and manage waste disposal according to hygiene standards.
- Support the kitchen team with various tasks as needed, demonstrating a proactive approach.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including COSHH guidelines.
Required Skills
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and cleanliness principles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent team player with a positive and 'can-do' attitude.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting (even informal) is a plus but not essential.
- A food hygiene certificate (training can be provided if not already held).
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and safe handling practices.
