Job Description
Join EventPro Solutions as a Lighting Technician’s Mate, a pivotal role supporting our senior lighting technicians in setting up, operating, and dismantling complex lighting systems for various events. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic, a keen interest in event technology, and a comfort with heights, as it involves significant climbing and rigging work. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior lighting technicians with the loading, unloading, and transportation of lighting equipment.
- Learn and perform safe rigging techniques for hanging lighting fixtures and other production elements at various heights.
- Aid in the setup and dismantle of lighting trusses, fixtures, consoles, and associated cabling.
- Follow precise instructions for focusing, aiming, and adjusting lighting instruments under supervision.
- Maintain and organize lighting equipment, ensuring proper storage and functionality.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations, especially when working at heights or with heavy equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting basic lighting system issues during events.
- Participate in training sessions and actively seek to expand knowledge of lighting technology and rigging best practices.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights on ladders, lifts, or rigging structures.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of electrical principles or stage production.
- Experience with hand tools and power tools.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Prior experience working in physically demanding roles or environments.
