Job Description
Join our dedicated team at ISS Facility Services as a Linen Sorter and play a vital role in the efficient operation of hospital logistics in Toowoomba. This full-time, on-site position offers weekly pay and the chance to contribute directly to the smooth running of healthcare services, ensuring that clean linen is always available for patients and staff. As a Linen Sorter, you will be responsible for the crucial task of sorting and categorizing soiled and clean linen, ensuring proper handling and preparation for laundry processing. Your attention to detail and commitment to hygiene will be essential in maintaining high standards within a fast-paced hospital environment. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort and categorize soiled linen according to type and destination, adhering to established procedures.
- Load and unload laundry equipment, including washing machines and dryers, following safety guidelines.
- Transport linen carts safely and efficiently within the hospital premises.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital infection control and hygiene protocols.
- Report any damaged linen, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to your supervisor promptly.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely processing and delivery of linen.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting, bending, and pushing/pulling linen carts.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and counting.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a logistics, warehouse, or hospital environment is an advantage, but not required as full training is provided.
- An understanding of basic infection control principles.
- A current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
