Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Solar Farm Groundskeeper to join our team in Kidderminster. This is a full-time, permanent position involving essential outdoor work to maintain the optimal condition and operation of our solar energy sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the grounds are kept clear, tidy, and free from obstructions that could impact panel performance or safety. This role is crucial for the efficient generation of clean energy and offers a chance to work in a dynamic and environmentally conscious industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular grounds maintenance, including mowing, strimming, and weeding around solar panels and perimeter fences.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively for groundskeeping tasks.
- Monitor the site for potential issues such as overgrown vegetation, debris, or damage to fencing and report findings.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance of site infrastructure as directed.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage waste and dispose of green waste appropriately.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including storage of tools and equipment.
- Support other site operational tasks as required by the site manager.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices in an outdoor work environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or agricultural work.
- Familiarity with operating small plant machinery (e.g., ride-on mowers, strimmers).
- CSCS card or similar health and safety certification.
- Experience working on a renewable energy site.
