Job Description
Are you passionate about live events and eager to learn the foundational skills in rigging and staging? C3 Presents is looking for a motivated Live Event Rigging & Staging Intern to join our dynamic Production team. This entry-level internship provides hands-on experience in the essential elements of live event production, focusing on the safe and efficient setup and teardown of rigging, staging, and structural components. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining practical knowledge and contributing to the success of world-class events. This role is perfect for individuals seeking to start a career in event production with a focus on technical operations. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior riggers and stage managers with the installation and removal of rigging equipment, including hoists, motors, and truss systems.
- Learn and apply safety protocols and best practices for all rigging and staging operations.
- Support the setup and teardown of stage structures, backdrops, and other production elements.
- Participate in equipment inventory, inspection, and maintenance.
- Help with general site preparation and cleanup before, during, and after events.
- Observe and learn about power distribution, audio-visual equipment setup, and lighting integration.
- Complete administrative tasks as needed to support the production team.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enthusiasm for live events and a strong desire to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of tools and mechanical concepts (preferred, but not required).
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- Strong work ethic and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant technical program (e.g., stagecraft, event management, technical theater).
- Prior volunteer or paid experience in event setup or general labor.
- Forklift certification or ability to operate other heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of basic carpentry or metalwork.
