Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Livestock Intern to join our team, focusing on animal management practices. This entry-level internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about agriculture and livestock, offering practical experience in daily farm operations, animal health, and welfare. Full training will be provided, making this ideal for students or recent graduates eager to kickstart their career in the pastoral industry. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining invaluable insights into ethical and efficient livestock farming.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily feeding and watering of livestock across various species (e.g., cattle, sheep).
- Participate in routine animal health checks, vaccinations, and parasite control under supervision.
- Learn and apply best practices for animal handling, welfare, and low-stress stockmanship.
- Support farm staff with pasture management and rotational grazing strategies.
- Maintain clean and organized pens, stables, and other animal housing facilities.
- Record observations related to animal behavior, health, and growth.
- Operate and maintain basic farm equipment safely (training provided).
- Assist with general farm duties as required.
Required Skills
