Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Loading Dock Assistant to join our Brampton distribution center team. This is a full-time position with early morning shifts, ensuring you finish your workday by noon! As a crucial part of our logistics operation, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of goods on and off our loading docks. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the job, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in logistics or supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload delivery trucks efficiently and safely, primarily by hand or using manual pallet jacks.
- Sort and organize incoming and outgoing merchandise according to company procedures.
- Verify product quantities against manifests and report discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment on the loading dock.
- Operate manual material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) safely.
- Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation as needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items regularly (up to 50 lbs) throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Basic communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (even short-term).
- Experience operating manual pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with health and safety protocols in a distribution setting.
