Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Machine Learning Engineer to join our innovative team in Derry/Londonderry. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying robust machine learning models and systems that power our next-generation products and services. You’ll work with diverse datasets, cutting-edge technologies, and a collaborative team to solve complex problems and deliver impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation to ensure high performance and accuracy.
  • Deploy and manage ML models in production environments, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
  • Monitor and maintain deployed models, troubleshooting issues and optimizing performance.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to understand requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence, applying new techniques where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the improvement of MLOps practices and infrastructure.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy).
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning principles, algorithms, and statistical modeling.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) for ML model deployment and management.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with MLOps tools and practices (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and big data technologies (e.g., Spark).
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal ML projects.
