Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Museum Curator / Director to lead our international sponsorship initiatives and oversee key curatorial projects. This pivotal role combines strategic curatorial leadership with robust fundraising and international relationship-building. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing impactful exhibitions, securing significant international sponsorships, and elevating the foundation’s global presence. You will work closely with our executive team, partner institutions, and a global network of donors and cultural attachés to achieve our ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for international sponsorship and fundraising, identifying and cultivating relationships with potential donors, corporations, and governmental bodies worldwide.
- Lead the conceptualization, research, and execution of major exhibitions and cultural programs, ensuring curatorial excellence and alignment with the foundation's mission.
- Negotiate and manage international partnerships, collaborations, and cultural exchange agreements with museums, galleries, and cultural organizations globally.
- Oversee the management of curatorial budgets, project timelines, and resources, ensuring efficient and effective program delivery.
- Represent the Lévis Cultural Foundation at international conferences, symposia, and networking events, acting as a primary ambassador for our cultural objectives.
- Mentor and supervise curatorial staff and project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of the foundation, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation in the cultural sector.
- Prepare compelling grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and presentations to secure funding for exhibitions and international programs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in museum curatorship and exhibition development.
- Demonstrable success in fundraising, sponsorship acquisition, or international donor relations.
- Strong understanding of international cultural policies and diplomacy.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English and French.
- Exceptional project management and organizational abilities.
- Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Art History, Museum Studies, Cultural Management, or a related field.
