Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Night Shift Maintenance team member to join our operations in Cairns on a part-time roster. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth functioning and upkeep of our facilities outside of peak operating hours. You will be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks, from routine checks and minor repairs to assisting with more complex issues, all aimed at maintaining a safe and efficient environment for our day-time staff and customers. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of facility equipment and systems (e.g., lighting, plumbing, basic machinery).
- Conduct minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
- Identify and report larger maintenance issues requiring specialist attention.
- Assist qualified tradespersons with repairs and installations as directed.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests during shift.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair techniques.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently during night shifts.
- Good communication skills to report issues and collaborate with team members.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and lift moderately heavy objects.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role, preferably within a retail or industrial environment.
- Relevant certifications in basic electrical, plumbing, or mechanical maintenance.
- First Aid certification.
