Job Description
G8 Education is seeking a dedicated and proactive IT Support Technician to provide multi-site support across our educational centers in the Cairns region. This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network systems to ensure seamless operation for staff and students. You will be a key point of contact for technical issues, offering timely and effective solutions, and contributing to the overall technological efficiency of our centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide multi-site technical support for hardware, software, and network infrastructure across various educational centers.
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, tablets, printers, and other peripheral devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues related to operating systems (Windows, macOS), productivity software, and educational applications.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within the network environment.
- Assist with network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi setup and basic routing/switching.
- Document all support activities, resolutions, and configurations in the IT service management system.
- Conduct routine system checks, updates, and preventative maintenance.
- Provide basic IT training and guidance to staff as required.
- Collaborate with external vendors and IT teams for advanced issue resolution.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT support role.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Experience with Microsoft 365/Google Workspace administration.
- Knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, Wi-Fi).
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transport for multi-site travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant IT certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL Foundation).
- Experience supporting IT systems within an educational environment.
- Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
- Basic understanding of server hardware and virtualization.
