Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Packing Shed Hands to join our team at our Esperance facility for the upcoming harvest season. This role is essential for ensuring our fresh fruit and vegetables are prepared and packed to the highest standards for distribution. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in horticulture and meet the 88-day regional work requirement for visa purposes. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for those new to the industry or looking for seasonal work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully sort and grade fresh fruit and vegetables according to quality standards.
- Efficiently pack produce into various containers, boxes, or punnets.
- Accurately label packed produce with necessary information.
- Stack and palletise packed goods, preparing them for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment within the packing shed.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and quality control procedures.
- Assist with general shed duties as required to support smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 15kg.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Basic communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a packing shed, factory, or agricultural setting is a bonus but not essential.
- Forklift license (desirable but not required).
- Own reliable transportation to and from the work site.
