Job Description
Are you looking for temporary work with the opportunity to gain your 88-day sign-off for a second or third-year Working Holiday Visa? West Coast Fresh Harvest is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Packing Shed Hands to join our busy team in Joondalup. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided. This role involves working with a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, ensuring they are sorted, packed, and prepared for distribution to supermarkets and other clients across Western Australia. It’s a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, learn new skills, and meet your visa requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and grade fresh fruits and vegetables according to quality standards.
- Pack produce into appropriate cartons, crates, or bags efficiently and carefully.
- Label packaged products accurately.
- Assist with loading and unloading of produce as required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to hygiene and food safety standards.
- Operate basic packing machinery under supervision (training provided).
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production targets.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good attention to detail for quality control.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
- Basic physical fitness to lift and carry items up to 15kg.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a packing shed or similar agricultural/production environment (not essential).
- Forklift license (though not a primary requirement for this role).
- Current driver's license and own reliable transport.
- Basic understanding of food safety principles.
