Job Description

Are you passionate about the art of pastry and eager to begin your culinary journey in a prestigious fine dining environment? The Salthouse Harbour Hotel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pastry Chef Intern to join our award-winning kitchen team. This is a unique opportunity for an aspiring pastry chef with little to no prior experience to learn from seasoned professionals, master fundamental techniques, and contribute to the creation of stunning desserts that delight our discerning guests. Full training will be provided, focusing on precision, creativity, and the high standards of a luxury hotel kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Pastry Chef and senior pastry team in the daily preparation and production of desserts, pastries, and baked goods.
  • Learn and execute various pastry techniques, including mixing, baking, decorating, and plating under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Prepare ingredients, set up mise en place, and assist with inventory management.
  • Follow recipes and portion control guidelines accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, showing eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations of the kitchen.
