Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Periodontist to join our established team in St Albans. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of periodontal conditions, including gingivitis, periodontitis, and peri-implant diseases. This role requires a clinician with a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for achieving optimal oral health outcomes. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of specialists, providing comprehensive treatment plans and contributing to our reputation for clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough periodontal examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
- Perform non-surgical and surgical periodontal therapies, including scaling and root planing, osseous surgery, soft tissue grafting, and guided tissue regeneration.
- Manage peri-implantitis and other implant-related periodontal issues.
- Collaborate with general dentists and other dental specialists to ensure integrated patient care.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in periodontics through continuing education.
- Adhere to all clinical governance and safety protocols.
Required Skills
- GDC Specialist Register in Periodontics.
- Comprehensive knowledge of advanced periodontal diagnostic and treatment techniques.
- Proven experience in surgical and non-surgical periodontal procedures.
- Excellent diagnostic and treatment planning skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree (e.g., MClinDent, PhD) in Periodontics.
- Experience with advanced digital dentistry technologies (e.g., CBCT, intraoral scanners).
- Evidence of involvement in research or teaching within periodontology.
- Membership of relevant professional organizations (e.g., BSP).
