Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated and resilient individuals to join our offshore teams as an Oil Rig Deck Swabber. This entry-level position is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency of oil rig decks in challenging offshore environments. Full training will be provided to successful candidates, focusing on safety protocols, cleaning techniques, and the use of specialized equipment. This role demands a strong work ethic, physical endurance, and a commitment to working as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks on offshore oil rig decks, including swabbing, washing, and degreasing surfaces.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively.
  • Assist senior crew members with general deck operations as required.
  • Monitor deck areas for potential hazards and report them immediately to supervisors.
  • Adhere strictly to all company and industry health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safety drills and emergency response training.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labour in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively within a team structure.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all operational guidelines.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a high degree of personal accountability.
  • Willingness to work extended shifts and live in remote offshore environments for prolonged periods.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of English language for safety briefings and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in industrial cleaning, manual labour, or physically demanding roles.
  • Valid offshore survival certificates (e.g., BOSIET/FOET, MIST) – training can be provided if not held.
  • Basic first aid certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new environments and learn quickly.
