Job Description
Join Jacobs Engineering Group as a Petroleum Engineering Intern within our Upstream Operations team. This on-site internship offers an unparalleled opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic oil and gas industry. You will work alongside experienced petroleum engineers, contribute to real-world projects, and develop a foundational understanding of upstream operations, from reservoir characterization to production optimization. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of reservoir and production data.
- Support senior engineers in the development and optimization of well plans and designs.
- Contribute to technical studies aimed at improving oil and gas recovery and production efficiency.
- Learn to utilize industry-standard software tools for reservoir simulation, wellbore analysis, and production forecasting.
- Prepare preliminary technical reports, presentations, and documentation.
- Participate actively in team meetings, technical discussions, and potential site visits (observational, under supervision).
- Conduct research on emerging technologies and best practices in upstream petroleum engineering.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field.
- Strong academic performance with a focus on core engineering principles.
- Fundamental understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and geology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to new challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous participation in engineering projects or research related to the oil and gas sector.
