Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Philanthropy Assistant to join our charitable fund team in Rockhampton. This role is crucial in supporting our fundraising efforts, donor relations, and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our philanthropic initiatives. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining donor relationships, processing donations, coordinating fundraising campaigns, and providing essential administrative support to the Philanthropy Manager and broader team. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with donor communication, including thank you letters, acknowledgments, and updates.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records within the CRM system.
  • Process donations and generate regular reports on fundraising activities.
  • Coordinate logistics for fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, and other materials for donor meetings.
  • Support the development and execution of fundraising campaigns.
  • Conduct research on potential donors and funding opportunities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the philanthropy team.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure seamless execution of philanthropic projects.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative or support role, preferably within a non-profit or fundraising environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • A genuine passion for humanitarian work and the mission of the Red Cross.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Communications, Marketing).
  • Experience with CRM software, ideally Raiser's Edge or similar donor management systems.
  • Understanding of fundraising principles and donor stewardship best practices.
