Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Play Centre Supervisor to join our weekend team in Franklin, ACT. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our play centre during peak hours, providing an exceptional experience for our young visitors and their families. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and engaging environment. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, and handling customer inquiries and minor incidents, all while upholding our high standards of service and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of play centre attendants during weekend shifts.
- Ensure all play equipment and areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Oversee customer service, including greeting guests, processing admissions, and handling inquiries or complaints.
- Manage daily cash reconciliations and end-of-day procedures.
- Coordinate and facilitate children's birthday parties and special events.
- Implement and enforce all health, safety, and operational policies and procedures.
- Provide first aid assistance as required (training provided if needed).
- Monitor staff performance and provide on-the-job guidance and training.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management promptly.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in a customer service or supervisory role, preferably in an entertainment or child-focused environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
- Reliability and flexibility to work weekend hours consistently.
- Current Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) check or willingness to obtain one.
- Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to undertake training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate in Hospitality, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Previous experience in a children's play centre or similar entertainment venue.
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations pertinent to children's facilities.
