Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Nurse to join our passionate team at Limestone Coast Veterinary Hospital. Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Perform animal restraint, administer medications, and monitor patients.
- Prepare surgical suites, sterilize instruments, and maintain inventory.
- Provide post-operative care, including monitoring vital signs and pain management.
- Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and post-procedure instructions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage hospital admissions/discharges.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the hospital premises, including kennels and examination rooms.
- Support front desk operations, including answering calls, scheduling appointments, and processing payments.
Required Skills
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 12 months of experience as a Veterinary Nurse.
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Strong understanding of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialized veterinary equipment (e.g., ultrasound, digital radiography).
- Knowledge of veterinary practice software (e.g., RxWorks, Vetlink).
- First Aid and CPR certification for animals.
