Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our Pothole Repair Crew. This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking for a stable career in public service with opportunities for growth and skill development. As a Crew Member, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and safety of Odessa’s roads. Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform all aspects of the job safely and efficiently. This is a physically demanding role performed outdoors in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of asphalt surfaces for repair, including cleaning and clearing debris.
- Operate various hand tools and small machinery under supervision, such as shovels, rakes, and compaction equipment.
- Shovel and spread asphalt mix into potholes and other road depressions.
- Ensure proper compaction of repair materials to create durable and smooth road surfaces.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in site setup and cleanup, including traffic control measures.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the crew leader.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting, bending, shoveling, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
