Job Description

Hilton Worldwide in Anchorage, AK is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Property Maintenance Assistant (Handyman/Mate) to join our dedicated team. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are ready to learn and develop valuable trade skills. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior maintenance staff and skilled technicians with various repair and maintenance tasks across the property.
- Learn to perform basic plumbing repairs, including unclogging drains and fixing minor leaks.
- Support with electrical tasks such as replacing light bulbs, switches, and outlets under supervision.
- Assist in general carpentry work, including minor drywall repairs, painting, and furniture assembly.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities and report any issues or necessary repairs.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Respond to and complete basic guest requests for maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
Required Skills
- No prior experience in maintenance is required – full training will be provided.
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn new skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of hand tools and eagerness to learn their proper use.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid driver's license.
- Familiarity with basic safety procedures.
- Previous experience in a customer service-oriented role.
