Job Description
Are you ready for an unforgettable summer filled with adventure, laughter, and making a positive impact on young lives? The Sterling Community Youth Center is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Camp Counselors to join our team! This role is perfect for individuals passionate about working with children, leading engaging activities, and ensuring a safe, fun, and memorable camp experience. You’ll be a mentor, a guide, and a friend, helping campers discover new interests, build confidence, and create lasting friendships. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain valuable experience in youth development and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during all activities, meals, and transitions.
- Lead and actively participate in a wide range of camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, outdoor games, and educational sessions.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all campers.
- Serve as a role model, demonstrating positive behavior, sportsmanship, and respect.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of daily camp schedules and special events.
- Communicate effectively with camp leadership regarding camper needs, concerns, and incidents.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow emergency procedures.
- Help campers resolve conflicts and build social skills.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity areas and shared spaces.
