Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Psychologist (Provisional or General Registration) to join our team in Bundaberg. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to build their practice within a supportive private setting. You will provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions to a diverse client base, addressing a range of mental health concerns. For provisional psychologists, comprehensive supervision and support will be provided to help you achieve full general registration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and formulate diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and/or group psychotherapy across various modalities.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in line with ethical and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with general practitioners, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Actively participate in regular clinical supervision and peer consultations (essential for provisional psychologists).
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain current knowledge of best practices in psychology.
  • Manage a caseload and schedule appointments efficiently.
  • Adhere to the ethical guidelines and professional standards set by AHPRA and the Psychology Board of Australia.

Required Skills

  • Current Provisional or General Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Approved degree in psychology (e.g., Master's or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, or equivalent leading to General Registration).
  • Sound knowledge of psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and rapport-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and client-centered care.
  • Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a range of therapeutic modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy, or EMDR.
  • Experience working with diverse client populations (e.g., children, adolescents, adults, older adults).
  • Current Medicare Provider Number or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience with practice management software (e.g., Cliniko, Halaxy).
