Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Public Healthcare Laundry & Sterilization Aide to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario. This immediate hire position is crucial for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for our patients and staff. As a Laundry & Sterilization Aide, you will be responsible for the efficient processing of laundry and sterilization of medical equipment, ensuring all health and safety protocols are strictly followed. Full training will be provided to successful candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute healthcare linens and uniforms according to established procedures.
  • Operate laundry equipment, including industrial washers, dryers, and folders.
  • Inspect linen for damage or stains and report issues.
  • Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment using appropriate techniques and machinery (e.g., autoclaves).
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilized items and equipment.
  • Transport clean and sterilized items to designated areas within the facility.
  • Adhere to all infection control, safety, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Replenish supplies as needed in sterilization and laundry areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of laundry and sterilization departments.

Required Skills

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Physical stamina to lift, push, pull, and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety and hygiene principles.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or industrial laundry setting.
