Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as a Public Hospital Porter / Orderly. This is a crucial role within the hospital, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of patients, equipment, specimens, and documentation throughout our facilities. You will play a key part in the smooth operation of our hospital, ensuring that patients receive timely care and that staff have the resources they need. This position offers immediate start for the right candidates and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients safely via beds, trolleys, or wheelchairs between wards, departments, and diagnostic areas.
  • Move medical equipment, including oxygen cylinders, infusion pumps, and other essential items.
  • Deliver and collect specimens, blood products, notes, and mail.
  • Assist with the movement and storage of supplies and clean linen.
  • Provide a compassionate and reassuring presence for patients during transit.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of trolleys, wheelchairs, and other portering equipment.
  • Respond promptly to urgent requests and coordinate with clinical staff.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and infection control policies.

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical fitness to perform duties including lifting, pushing, and prolonged standing/walking.
