Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in healthcare with no prior experience? Health Sciences North Laboratories is offering an exciting opportunity for a Public Sector Phlebotomist Trainee. This is a comprehensive, paid clinical training program designed to equip you with all the necessary skills and knowledge to become a certified phlebotomist. You will receive hands-on instruction and mentorship from experienced professionals, learning the art and science of venipuncture, patient interaction, and specimen processing in a public health setting. This entry-level position is perfect for dedicated individuals eager to learn and contribute to essential diagnostic services. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all aspects of the phlebotomy training curriculum.
- Learn and practice venipuncture techniques on various patient populations under supervision.
- Understand and adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety procedures.
- Develop skills in proper specimen collection, labeling, and handling.
- Learn to accurately enter patient information and test orders into laboratory systems.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients to ensure a comfortable experience.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all institutional policies and procedures.
