Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and motivated Drywall / Plasterer’s Assistant to join our dedicated team in Sherbrooke. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow their career in the construction trades. You will work indoors, assisting our experienced drywallers and plasterers on a variety of projects, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training to all new team members. This full-time position offers stable work and weekly pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled drywallers and plasterers with all aspects of interior finishing.
- Prepare work areas, including setting up scaffolding, protecting surfaces, and moving materials.
- Mix plaster and drywall compounds to the correct consistency.
- Cut and hang drywall sheets under supervision.
- Apply taping, mudding, and sanding techniques as instructed.
- Clean up job sites and maintain tools and equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Learn and develop new skills in drywall and plastering.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- No prior experience required; full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites (within Sherbrooke area).
- Basic knowledge of construction tools.
