Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Improvement Coordinator to join our Health team in Launceston. This vital role involves supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives across our services. You will play a key part in ensuring our services meet and exceed accreditation standards, enhance patient safety, and promote a culture of continuous improvement within a dynamic healthcare environment. This is an on-site position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate quality improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in the development, review, and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to quality and safety.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant healthcare standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation frameworks.
  • Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality and safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate incident management processes and contribute to root cause analysis investigations.
  • Provide education and training to staff on quality improvement methodologies, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for management and relevant committees on quality performance.
  • Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Nursing, Allied Health, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a quality improvement, risk management, or patient safety role within a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of Australian healthcare accreditation standards (e.g., National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards).
