Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Rural Store Assistant to join our team in Townsville. This ongoing full-time position is ideal for someone passionate about agriculture and eager to contribute to the local farming community. As a Store Assistant, you will be the front line of our business, assisting customers with their farming supply needs, managing inventory, and ensuring the smooth operation of our rural retail store. Full training will be provided to help you develop a comprehensive understanding of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with product inquiries, sales, and order processing, providing friendly and knowledgeable service.
  • Process transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system.
  • Receive, unpack, and organise stock, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and products are clearly displayed.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe store environment, including merchandising and general upkeep.
  • Assist with inventory management, stock counts, and reordering.
  • Operate forklifts or other machinery as required (training provided).
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including WHS guidelines.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and support colleagues as needed.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new systems.
  • Physical fitness to handle lifting and moving various products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service role.
  • Familiarity with agricultural products or farm equipment.
  • Forklift license (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Valid driver's license.
