Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Sherbrooke, Quebec. This is an exceptional opportunity for an international professional looking to establish a career in Canada, as visa sponsorship is provided for the right candidate. The Quantity Surveyor will be instrumental in managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to the final figures. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure financial health and successful delivery of our high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Undertake cost analysis for project work.
  • Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
  • Perform risk and value management and cost control.
  • Advise on procurement strategy.
  • Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
  • Prepare and analyze costing for tenders.
  • Allocate work to subcontractors and manage their payments.
  • Liaise with the client and other construction professionals.
  • Monitor and keep track of project progress.
  • Value completed work and arrange payments.
  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation, tendering, and contract administration.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Canadian construction standards and practices.
  • Professional designation (e.g., PQS, RICS, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in French (oral and written).
  • Experience with cost management software (e.g., Buildertrend, Procore,或其他 industry-standard tools).
  • Knowledge of local regulations and building codes in Quebec.
