Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Recycling Centre Sorter to join our operations in Karratha on an ongoing, full-time basis. This essential role involves manually sorting various recyclable materials, ensuring they are correctly processed for reuse and minimizing environmental impact. While prior experience in a recycling environment is a plus, full training will be provided to the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sort and separate different recyclable materials (e.g., plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, metals) on a conveyor belt or sorting line.
- Identify and remove non-recyclable items or contaminants from the material stream.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Operate basic material handling equipment as required (training provided).
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily sorting targets.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and lift items as required.
- Strong attention to detail to accurately identify and sort materials.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to safety in the workplace.
- Basic understanding of recycling principles or a willingness to learn quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar industrial, manufacturing, or labour-intensive environment.
